Anne E. Linton earned her PhD from Yale University in 2011, and is Associate Professor of 19th and 20th-Century French at San Francisco State University. Her research interests span a wide range of interdisciplinary topics in 19th-century cultural studies, including science, medicine, and gender studies. Her recent articles have appeared in Nineteenth-Century French Studies, Yale French Studies, the French Review, Romanic Review, and Representations, among others. She is currently putting the finishing touches on a book manuscript titled Prescribed Fictions: Representations of Hermaphrodism in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Medicine. Her Fall 2018 sabbatical will be devoted to work on her second book project: Trans Technology: Bioethics and Gender in Nineteenth-Century France.
